We chose Left Bank for the location of my sister’s tea party baby shower in February 2014. The results were an elegant and simply beautiful afternoon. The natural light in the space on a sunny winter day set the scene for the tea party. My sister and brother in law, both History teachers, were so impressed by the restorations made to to the building. They really appreciated celebrating their baby shower at Left Bank. Sophie was excellent through the planning process of this event! We now have wonderful memories of that special day.

HWS hosted the fifth annual international Popular Culture and World Politics conference in November and we were fortunate to have Sophie host the first night’s event: a dinner and public lecture by Anne Elizabeth Moore. It was a fantastic start to the conference. The space was amazing. Sophie handled all the catering details and everything went off smoothly. The attendees were from around the globe and everyone was effusive in their praise of the space.

My spouse and I definitely wanted our wedding to take place in the Finger Lakes region for its bucolic setting and great wineries. On our final day of trying to finalize the restaurant that we had chosen to have our wedding, we accidentally came across Left Bank…Left Bank screams sophistication. Sophie was so attentive and patient to our wishes. Sophie has such an eye for detail. Even when you are set on something, she has a way of enhancing your initial plans or expectations…Her behind the scenes approach to the night made us feel at ease knowing that everything was being addressed without us having to intervene…I can not express to you how happy we were with our wedding event at Left Bank. We still have friends comment on how exceptionally beautiful it was. I sincerely recommend Sophie and Left Bank without hesitation.

We are a high end commercial furniture design and manufacturing company based locally here in Geneva, NY. Left Bank’s space was magnificent; it was bright and clean and Sophie was very accommodating to whatever we needed. Our shoot went off without a hitch; we produced beautiful photos, and even booked the space for an additional shoot. Thank you, Sophie!

Left Bank was a beautiful location for hosting our wine dinner. It combines impressive high ceilings, great light, and breathtaking aesthetics with an easy layout and flow that makes hosting a dinner for 60 people elegant and effortless. We are hoping to feature our wines soon and often at this space. Sophie was a gracious host, and was infinitely accommodating to both guests and the caterer.

Hobart and William Smith Colleges have used Left Bank on a number of occasions to host events and symposia for students, faculty, staff and alums. This has included a successful reception for our Board of Trustees that allowed members of our campus community to gather for conversation and a short program. Left Bank is an ideal Geneva space, locally owned and operated, that provides outstanding service and gracious hospitality in a lovely setting. Sophie Paillard-Elkin and her staff have been exceptionally accommodating in working with us on events and our guests have always been impressed with the sophisticated space. We regularly recommend Left Bank to friends and colleagues.

Left Bank served as the perfect venue for our wedding ceremony and reception on 10/4/14. We were first drawn to the venue due to its location on Linden Street in downtown Geneva, NY. Once we toured the venue, we knew it was the perfect location for our small event. It has a classy, modern feel, and our decorating options were limitless. Just as importantly, Sophie was a delight to work with. She was attentive to our needs, flexible, and worked very well with all of our vendors. We had a sense throughout the planning process that she truly cared about how our day would be, and that it was important to her that we were happy. We highly recommend Sophie and Left Bank for your future events!

Who knew an old bank could be transformed into such an exciting (even romantic) space. Left Bank takes full advantage of the former institution’s  classical architectural features and transforms them into the ideal venue for art installations, dinner receptions, concerts or presentations. A towering skylight draws natural light into its inviting and elegant open center room. This simultaneously bold and sensitive restoration will ennoble any gathering.  Brilliant.  Beautiful.  Kudos to Sophie and her team.

Looking for a rehearsal dinner venue for a wedding was an arduous process. We were searching for something intimate, unique and affordable. On a walk one morning I happened upon Sophie standing in front of the former bank building on Linden Street…At every turn, Sophie went out of her way to accommodate every question, offer endless choices and generally make the whole process a pleasure. The event space was absolutely beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Our family would heartily recommend using this venue and look forward to another opportunity to visit.

Left Bank provided such a unique, inviting, and pristine atmosphere for our rehearsal dinner this past October! What began as a blank slate was transformed into my dream dinner environment – classical music playing softly in the background, two large barn wood tables, canning jars for water, a variety of juices from Red Jacket Orchards, and table settings that perfectly complimented the scene. Sophie was very easy to work with and made creative yet delicate touches to our evening. Her suggestions for caterers, dessert options, and other aspects of our evening made it truly a night to remember. I highly recommend Left Bank for anyone who is looking for a sophisticated and memorable event experience!
